Why TalKorea?

So this is my OFFICIAL first post
yeah, I know, I posted something before, but this is the official

I want to talk about TalKorea and Understanding Korea.

Understanding Korea is a course in Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST), the university I am attending right now. It is a course that talks about Korea (that's why it's called Understanding Korea, duh) in general.

I have been living in Korea for 3 years, so I might know quite a lot about Korea, but it does not stop my interest in knowing more about Korea. There are still a lot more things I want to know about Korea, and through Understanding Korea and TalKorea, I can learn those things AND teach them to others who are also interested in Korea.

Even though officially this blog was created for Understanding Korea course, I will try to make it as fun and understandable to everyone, don't worry~ And I will focus more on the thing teenagers usually have more interests in, Korean pop music.

"Why K-Pop?"

Korean wave (Hallyu) has taken over Asia, and continues to spread all around the world. I think one of the biggest factors in the Korean wave is K-pop. K-pop has tons of fans, and just like me, most of them are young people. I myself have been interested in K-pop even before I came to Korea 3 years ago, so it is a topic that I can relate myself to. K-pop has a really fast pace, and we can have a new information every single day.

There are a lot of things to talk about in K-pop. We can talk about EXO's new video, or Girls' Generation's concert, or even Bigbang's hairstyles. But covering all those topics would be quite overwhelming I think, not only to me as the author, but also to you as the readers. So I would like to specify our topic even more. I will post mostly about the role of K-pop as one of Hallyu's leaders, and the impact of K-pop in people of Korea and other countries.
